When it comes to feeling observant – it is possible to get away with almost anything.
But when it comes to being observant – it is a completely different story.
Behind every written law, G-d awaits us to become partners with him. True partnership with the One Above is strengthened through the manner in which I choose observe that which I am taught is right or wrong.
I can get away with almost anything, but why would I want to?
